Pax Silica: The Fine Print Comes Due

I called this Technocratic colonization before the ink on the declaration was dry. On January 16, 2026, I wrote that Pax Silica was the actualization of Pillar III of the White House AI Action Plan — the pillar that extends the domestic Technocratic agenda to the rest of the world by exporting American AI frameworks, hardware standards, and regulatory templates to allied nations. I said the goal was to cement a global regime of expert rule, dressed up as partnership.

AI is the ultimate disruptor, but the employment apocalypse hasn't happened as predicted... so far. What we have is employment churn, but not necessarily employment burn. Across multiple industries, employees are reporting increased job stress and burnout because of strain of using AI. Many employees are reporting more work because AI gives them more tasks to do.

Why the AI Capability Multiplier Has Compressed to 3.1 Months From 3.5

I have been tracking the progress of AI since January 2025, since Trump's inauguration. Initially, starting at one, I pegged the doubling factor at 3.5 months; then I adjusted it lower to 3.3 on August 17th. After further research, I am settling it back to 3.1, which is 13.43 weeks. This is the time it takes for AI to double in raw ability, breadth, and the ability to create useful work.

And who was the President of Y Combinator at the time? Sam Altman, who soon thereafter co-founded OpenAI with Elon Musk.

Elon Musk, the world's most logical Technocrat, has a fatal flaw in his logic: he says he will sell or lease an Optimus robot to every human on Earth and then, magically, the cost of everything will fall to zero and there will be no need for money (except to buy the new and improved Optimus?) Somehow, he expects the same magic to cause you to give a hearty AMEN as you head toward your own destruction. For all his purported wisdom, Musk is patently insane to say this with a straight face.

The company says that human neurons are harvested from blood and then turned into stem cells. It assures the public that the cells are not taken from human brains or fetal tissue. The neurons sit on a microelectrode array (MEA): a glass/silicon chip covered with hundreds to thousands of tiny electrodes that can both stimulate and record.The public pitch is the AI power crisis, not FLOPS. Cortical Labs and DayOne argue wetware can process information at a fraction of a GPU rack’s wattage. Creepy.

Flock Safety received a startup grant from Y Combinator in 2017 when Sam Altman was President. YC bills itself as a high-touch startup accelerator that coaches early founders, connects them with a dense investor and alumni network, and prepares them to raise institutional capital. Altman always picked high-probability disruptive companies. Without Altman, Flock would never have been picked by Andreessen Horowitz for major funding.
