After blaming global warming for the fires in Maui instead of their own mismanagement, now the government is going to punish tourists by slapping them with a carbon footprint tax - not merely lodging in hotels and vacation rentals, but cruise ships as well. At this rate, the government will be looking next to tax boat rentals, beach towels and tiki torches. Paradise lost!

Indeed, he might be playing the spider in the timeless poem, “The Spider and the Fly.” But the point is made: the world is cracking apart, and people (especially Zoomers) are being seduced by Technocracy’s siren call of efficiency, neutrality, and impartiality. Security is not found in Universal Basic Income, nor is happiness found in “trusting the algorithm.” Nevertheless, the world is caving in.

I dare you to search for your city and the words "climate action plan" on Google. You will be shocked! I estimate that seventy percent of all cities already have a formal plan, and another twenty percent are working on it.

As pressure increases on society to legalize "suicide", one must harken back to the 1973 cult movie "Soylent Green", staring Charlton Heston (Robert Thorn) and Edward G. Robinson (Sol). This totally dystopian movie is set in a world beset by shortages and environmental degradation, where people's corpuses are are recycled into food. Seeing no way out, Sol turns himself to the local euthanasia center.
