What is with all this apocalyptic talk? Yudkowsky and Soares warn that AI could destroy the world. Christians warn about Armageddon and God's judgment on the earth. Islam talks about the Mahdi, or "guided one", who will appear on the global scene to destroy the non-Islamic world. Peter Thiel, the founder of Palantir, is talking incessantly about the anti-Christ. President Trump has basically declared war on Russia, which could result in a global nuclear wipeout.

Journalists at Business Insider are officially green-lighted to use AI to write stories but they will own whatever they publish under their own name, and that includes hallucinations and wrong information. BI is the first major publication to spell out stringent rules and regulations regarding the use of AI. Obviously, BI journalists are buzzing. 

When Dilbert's pointy-haired boss writes the specs for a new program, look out for the disaster and hubris. Ignorant bosses, trying to find shortcuts to saving money, are dumbing down their developer pool while creating software applications that are full of holes and security flaws. This is a recipe for disaster across the whole spectrum. In the meantime, Dilbert's boss still does not know what he does not know.
