Sam Altman Sees 1 Million GPUs Online By Year-End 2025

If Altman were to purchase the latest Blackwell Ultra GPU models from Nvidia at $30,000 per pop, he is talking about $30 billion for the chips alone. Buildout cost for the data center is about 3x-4x the cost of the chips, making Altman's total spend in the range of $100-$150 billion. The AI industry is expected to spend $500-$600 billion in 2025 alone, and is likely to reach $5 trillion by 2030.
