Further, AI doesn't need humans to perform work, so this is a paradigm of the "crushing of wages" that Marc Andreessen recently talked about. As human value shrinks, AI and its owners are fabulously enriched by the data.

AI is perilously close to autonomous  "unsupervised learning," where the requirement for human assistance is removed. Currently, there are sparks of ignition of self-learning but it is spotty and limited to a specific domain. The holy grail for AI is to achieve GENERAL self-learning on an ad-hock basis; in other words, the AI discovers new learning opportunities and then pursues them autonomously. Theoretically, this is the instance when Artificial Super Intelligence occurs.
