AI is perilously close to autonomous  "unsupervised learning," where the requirement for human assistance is removed. Currently, there are sparks of ignition of self-learning but it is spotty and limited to a specific domain. The holy grail for AI is to achieve GENERAL self-learning on an ad-hock basis; in other words, the AI discovers new learning opportunities and then pursues them autonomously. Theoretically, this is the instance when Artificial Super Intelligence occurs.
