Technocracy

Maye Musk shares a title with Henry Kissinger as a lao pengyou, or “old friend” of China. Her son, Elon, is not old enough to be called "old," but he is a dear friend of China. This should not surprise you because China is a Technocracy, and it reveres the root family of Technocracy, the Musks. China owes all of its success to people like Henry Kissinger and Zbigniew Brzezinski, who paved the way in the early 1970s. Now 76, Maye Musk is the grande dame of Technocracy.

Go ahead. Play the cat, trapped in a simulacrum, chasing the laser pointer around the house. The biggest story of 2024 will also be the biggest story of 2025: that we are perilously close to full-blown Technocracy. Hemingway famously quipped, “How did you go bankrupt? Two ways. Gradually, then suddenly.” Totalitarianism is like that.

"Engineered Dependency" was exclusively engineered by Technocrats: the so-called PayPal Mafia, headed by Peter Thiel in 1999, Steve Jobs at Apple, Larry Page and Sergey Brin at Google in 1998, Jeff Bezos at Amazon in 1994, Marc Andreessen at Mozilla/Netscape in the early 1990s, Eric Schmidt at Novell in 1997, and the list goes on. Collectively, they have a cast a net over humanity and capture is imminent.

This book review was written on February 25, 2015, just after my first book on Technocracy was published. I'm saddened that most of the world went merrily on its way while the greatest to humanity loomed like a giant vampire squid. Technocracy Rising should be required for all public servants, elected or not. Today, with the rise of Technopopulism (blending Technocracy with Populism), every chapter foretold precisely where we were headed. Meanwhile, the populist movement runs to and fro with reckless abandon like a herd of wildebeests on the African savanna.

We want the government to be downsized but not at the hands of arch-Technocrats like Musk and Ramaswamy, who are intending to deconstruct and disrupt the federal government. This was the manta of historic Technocracy from the 1930s: inefficiency and cutting waste would result in abundance and prosperity. Trump stated, "I am pleased to announce the Great Elon Musk, working with American Patriot Vivek Ramaswamy, will lead the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE)."
