Technocracy

Arch-Technocrat TechBro Billionaire Trilateral Commission member Eric Schmidt is not someone you should trust with your future. Indeed, he might be playing the spider in the timeless poem, "The Spider and the Fly." But the point is made: the world is cracking apart, and people (especially Zoomers) are being seduced by Technocracy's siren call of efficiency, neutrality, and impartiality. Security is not found in Universal Basic Income, nor is happiness found in "trusting the algorithm." Nevertheless, the world is caving in.

The Mideast in general and Saudi Arabia in particular, with Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman (MBS) leading the charge, is over-the-top in love with Technocracy. Perhaps MBS sees himself as a modern-day Nimrod, the Biblical figure who built the Tower of Babel. If so, he is in a fierce race with other dictators in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Qatar, Kuwait, and Iraq to hang on to the title. Collectively, these countries are spending over $1 trillion over the next few years on state-of-the-art smart cities.

This opinion piece in USA Today openly expresses a growing sentiment that we have been betrayed. This extends far beyond Libertarians. Everybody who voted for Trump feels betrayed, except for a few remaining Trumpists who have turned politics into a religion with blinders on. Dubai is the perfect model of Technocracy on the planet. The "golden age" appearance of Dubai is a very expensive fisod that hides tyranny, brutality, scientific dictatorship, total surveillance, and social credit monitoring. Forget human rights at any level. Forget free speech. In short, Dubai is a repressive dictatorship run as a Technocracy. 

Technocracy is run by a uber-rich scientific elite that has no moral compass or regard for humanity. Arch-Technocrats are increasingly viewed like the ancient gods like Thor, Zeus or Apollo. Total control is akin to annihilation. Citizens of the world have no clue that the First Turning may be mopping up after mass killings the likes of which have not been seen since the 1920s-1940s.
