Mark Zuckerberg just lost his Chief AI Scientist, who is pursuing a $1 billion startup to get AI right. At 65, investors are betting on LeCun. He says that LLMs are at a dead end and increasingly resistant to new breakthroughs. Instead, he says the future of AI rests on meaning, rather than selecting the next word. If an AI can visualize an object or an interaction, the question to ask is, "What does it mean?" The answer to that question will deliver the correct response. This would be revolutionary.
