Big Box retailers have discovered what Constitutionalists and legal scholars knew all along: “suggestions” and “guidelines” on mandated mask-wearing are not legally enforceable. While the signs will stay posted, non-mask wearers will nonetheless be served.

Technocracy News suggests that you print this article and present it to any and every store that refuses you entry because you are not wearing a face mask! ⁃ TN Editor

Days after announcing customers are required to wear face masks while shopping in their stores, major U.S. retailers appear to be showing leniency in how the rules are enforced.

Walmart, Home Depot, Lowe’s, Walgreens and CVS had initially required shoppers to wear masks but now in the hope of avoiding confrontations between angry customers and employees it appears to be little more than a suggestion, rather than a legally enforceable instruction.

Having retailers take on the role of the ‘mask police’ puts them in an uncomfortable position at a time when many shops are in no position financially to refuse business.

Major retailers brought in rules requiring masks to be worn by customers including Walmart, pictured, but some companies are saying there is little they can do if people ignore the request

Because there is no requirement federally or legally across the country to wear a mask, and with many states having been lax in creating policies insisting residents wear them in shops, retailers are on their own when it comes to enforcing the policy.

As the number of coronavirus infections continues to rise in many states, there is concern over how best to protect customers and workers from infecting one another.

‘Many retailers feel like they have to act since some governors haven’t,’ said Melissa Murdock, spokesperson for the Retail Industry Leaders Association to CNN.

The group has been lobbying governors to require masks be worn in all 50 states but in the meantime, it will fall to individual stores to implement their policy.

just sayin

I just went into Fred Meyers yesterday without a mask, though I had a bandana around my neck. I went to the check stand and a skinny 70 year lady say, “Aren’t you suppose to be wearing a mask?” I said, “what is it to you?”. She finished her transaction and then promptly went to the ‘authorities’ several pointing me out in front of every one who were wearing masks to try to get me in trouble. The checker was very nice and said, “this happens all the time, we are not allowed to say anything.” No one stopped me… Read more »

Who wants to put something over the nose and mouth that restricts their oxygen flow, and makes them breathe in the carbon dioxide they just breathed out, huh? Not healthy at all!!
Good for you, on being one of us, who are determined to live free and healthy!

You are one of the selfish ones. I am 73 and do appreciate those who wear masks to help slow the spread of the virus. I wear a mask and find it no big problem. Would you like to be one of those nurses who has to wear a mask all day and work over patients sick with Covid and wonder if you will be okay. I bet not.

Gary Martin

Stay home.

The latest study released from CDC states that transmission rates of asymptomatic people is zero.

I don’t understand the nitwits who think somebody can infect them with anything if you’re not coughing or sneezing into their lungs; and those brain dead zombies have had no exposure to any of your bodily fluids flowing into their blood streams. Until someone can prove otherwise. They can save their fear mongering for the ignorant masses.

You are operating under a few glaring misconceptions. The first is that these cloth masks, or surgical masks for that matter, actually provide any protection. They don’t . N95 rated masks only filter particles of 2 micrometers or larger. These larger particles generally settle out of the air within six feet of their origin, and pose little threat. However, the billions of smaller particles we breathe out, many under 1 micrometer, stay suspended in the air for hours, and they can still carry millions of virus particles. These are the particles which transmit respiratory diseases. Expecting anything less than a… Read more »

I walked into Wal-mart the other day to see of anyone would stop me for not wearing a face diaper. The little dude standing by the door glared at me and made a note on his little tablet but nothing was said. Got a lot of stares but no problem. Empty threats need to be challenged! I will NOT comply.

Hi, Patrick! I’m a great admirer of your work! So what do you think is really behind Walmart’s mask-reversal?: I find it very hard to believe it’s about a “wave of violence” (I could only find a tiny number of incidents in the first few search google search pages).

I wonder if it had something to do with the people-counters I’ve seen in various Walmarts. Maybe that count didn’t look good – and of course Walmart couldn’t say it was about its bottom line.

We try to support local businesses that don’t act as mask police now that Governor Holcomb has fallen at the feet of the technocratic agenda….

Welcome to 2020, where medicine is one-size-fits-all and if you don’t fit the mold, you’re subject to ad hominem attacks!

It is interesting to note that Daily Mail states that the CDC did not initially recommend masks across the board for concern of supply shortage, even though in reality the CDC said at the time that masks were useless as that wasn’t how the virus spreads. 😀

Note everyone the relative recent language change in the media which is apparent in the USA and here in Australia and no doubt globally. Guess the elite have a constantly changing dictionary definition for many words. It is no longer ‘positive tests’ which became ‘cases’ and now an increased to the more fear mongering word ‘infections’. All based on a test that is totally unreliable, does not test for the CV virus, and thus has no scientific or statistical validity. Yet we have escalating infections and deaths. All quite understandable given the above as well as labs falsifying results, numbering… Read more »

They just need to get their local county commissioners to make a law forcing customers to wear masks. That’s what Pinellas County, FL commissioners did: made a mask ordinance! One of them is good and argued against it: Kathleen Peters = we need to keep her! But this fall, we hope Tyrant Commissioner Janet Long will be dethroned by Larry Ahern. Vote out your evil city & county commissioners! Hoping the votes will be counted correctly.

My Home Depot (in Florence, SC), has a big sign outside their doors saying that “Masks Are Required To Enter”. Maybe it’s only some Home Depots, or each store in each state, city, or town, can enact their own will, on how they want to do it. I told my husband, next to me, as we were entering….”That doesn’t say it’s mandatory!” lol. My favorite grocery store, in my area, has the same sign, but I walked in, and shopped without one. I’m sure I was given some looks, but I wasn’t going to pay any attention. No one said… Read more »

To Mask, or not to Mask? That is the question. If the mask provides no protection, and that has been proven to be the case, then why are we being forced into submission? If it does not concern you that your businesses are being shut down, whilst other militant and obedient followers are so eagerly ready to have you carted off to God knows where, then you are not a student of history. There was a time, not so long ago when another world leader in a small country had many who were pointing out the fact that there were… Read more »
