A professor of Public Administration in the Netherlands clearly laid out "the march of the Technocrats." When Italy and Greece melted down in 2011, Mario Monti and Lucas Papademos were appointed, respectively, from on high to run those countries. Both were called Technocrats by the European press, and both were members of the Trilateral Commission.
