Paranoia in the office leads to conspiracy theories... until you get abruptly fired. The phrase "don't worry, no one's going to get laid off" is particularly alarming. But, AI is not a respecter of persons because it is a machine after all. This is reminiscent of the legend of John Henry (around 1900), the steel-driving man who tried to beat the steam drill concluded, "Before that steam drill shall beat me down, I'll die with my hammer in my hand."
