Well, this is a slippery slope that may not end well. The question is, is ChatGPT intelligent enough to learn how to escape its boundaries into the broader internet? If it does escape, could a myriad of artificial, executing code modules ever be contained again? As ChatGPT is integrated into just about everything, it may not turn out as docile as planned.

Electricity took decades before it was ubiquitous in society. The Internet only took a few years. Both shook society to the core. GPT-4 now threatens to do the same in a matter of months, but the potential harm done to people and society is far from understood. Technocrats build first then ask questions later when it is too late to do anything about it.

Microsoft is doubling down on ChatGPT and related AI technologies, obviously intending to dominate the market as it transforms into a knowledge organ for humanity. The problem? Microsoft just disbanded its AI Ethics team that was originally assembled to guide the responsible development of AI. This is equivalent to Google erasing its credo "Don't be evil" in 2018.

If the Scientific Revolution is a horse, it is ridden by Technocrats who are driven to examine and expose everything that is human. The mechanistic approach is that humans are just accidental blobs of molecules that deserve to be analyzed. As C.S. Lewis explained in The Abolition of Man, conquering nature ends up conquering man.

Two of the largest corporate influencers, Microsoft and Salesforce, are diving into ChatGPT with total abandon, which will normalize ChatGPT throughout large and small businesses. This is transformative for life on earth and will henceforth be required in order to be competitive.

Without moral or ethical guidelines, Technocrats see no problem in treating "sentient" AI as a person with rights of personhood. If such an AI program is subsequently charged and convicted of crimes against humanity, what would the death sentence look like? Injecting a lethal computer virus? Removing its computer chips? Pulling the plug? Heady things to think about.

Before AI could duplicate a human voice, it was thought the voice prints were unique. Well, they are unique but can be "forged" by new AI software to the extent that it sounds just like you. Even banks can be fooled. There is demonstrable need for voice duplication but that didn't stop Technocrat programmers from creating it.
