Will Yann LeCun Provide The Next Breakthrough In AI?

Mark Zuckerberg just lost his Chief AI Scientist, who is pursuing a $1 billion startup to get AI right. At 65, investors are betting on LeCun. He says that LLMs are at a dead end and increasingly resistant to new breakthroughs. Instead, he says the future of AI rests on meaning, rather than selecting the next word. If an AI can visualize an object or an interaction, the question to ask is, "What does it mean?" The answer to that question will deliver the correct response. This would be revolutionary.

AI Can Now Unmask Anonymous Internet Users

What can be done manually can be done by AI a million times faster. If you expose yourself to the Internet through anonymous posts, social media fake accounts, commenting under a false name, etc., you have no expectation of privacy. AI can identify you with as few as 5 data points based on your vocabulary, phrases, length, common typos, transposed letters, subject comparisons, and more. This means that you cannot hide behind a VPN (Virtual Private Network).

OpenAI CEO Sam Altman Goes Dystopian On ChatGPT Energy Consumption

This was not a gaffe: it was an expression of thoroughly mechanical worldview held by all Technocrats. Altman leads the most powerful AI company on earth while operating from a framework that cannot distinguish the irreducible dignity of a human being from a server rack's thermal profile. One critic put it bluntly: these people are "deeply antisocial and antihuman." Another called him a psychopath.

Matt Shumer: Something Big Is Happening With AI

Most writers talk about the AI that was around 6 months ago, and judge it accordingly. With the capability of AI doubling every 4-5 months, you should immediately see the problem - it's almost impossible to keep up. Shumer has been a world-class coder for years, and now finds himself out of hands-on coding forever. With Anthropic's just-released Opus 4.6, I had to test it for myself, and I concur that something big is happening.

To Serve Man: The Rapid Rise Of AI Compute And AI Data Centers

Institutional AI is not an add‑on to our existing order; it is the order. When you follow the hardware, the data flows, and the political incentives, a simple conclusion emerges: institutional AI—corporate plus state—is structurally about governing populations and markets, and that’s where most of the compute and data gravity now resides.

The Rapid Advancement Of AI Since The Inauguration Of Trump On January 20, 2025

I grew up in the era of supercars: Olds 442, Chevy 454, Dodge Charger R/T, Shelby Cobras, and Mustangs. They usually had floor-mounted, manual transmissions. The most beautiful sound in the world occurs when acceleration in 2nd gear, driving the tachometer past 6,000 RPM, the engine screaming, and then you shift into 3rd gear.

With Ring, American Consumers Built A Surveillance Dragnet

The head of Ring, Jamie Siminoff, thought it would be good to appear in this dystopian Super Bowl ad. He is clueless that the Internet is condemning him: finding your lost doggie is one step removed from finding anything and anybody. Watch this video to see how the Ring dragnet turns on the "searchlights": Are Amber and Silver alerts next? It is estimated that tens of millions of Ring cameras have been installed. Keep an eye out for Milo.

Botched Surgeries As Technocrats Enter The Operating Room With AI

AI misidentifies body parts, and gives wrong directions to surgeons on where to cut. No problemo, right? Wrong. The FDA can't handle all the complaints coming from AI-assisted technology in surgery rooms. Technocrats like Larry Ellison promise AI solutions for all healthcare needs, from cancer to surgery. When it fails, their response is "we'll fix the bugs" or "wait for the next version." Utopia is just always around the corner.
