Warning: Scientists Discover Intelligence Genes In DNA

TN Note: Boosting and restructuring human intelligence is the Holy Grail of Transhumanism. It will just be a matter of time before direct experiments start, using the new CRISPR gene editing technology. Those Technocrats who perform such experiments will not be deterred by ethics, morals, legislation or politicians.

Genes which make people intelligent have been discovered and scientists believe they could be manipulated to boost brain power.
Researchers have believed for some time that intellect is inherited with studies suggesting that up to 75 per cent of IQ is genetic, and the rest down to environmental factors such as schooling and friendship groups.

But until now, nobody has been able to pin-point exactly which genes are responsible for better memory, attention, processing speed or reasoning skills.

Now Imperial College London has found that two networks of genes determine whether people areintelligent or not-so-bright.

They liken the gene network to a football team. When all the players are in the right positions, the brain appears to function optimally, leading to clarity of thought and what we think of as quickness or cleverness.

However when the genes are mutated or in the wrong order, it can lead to dullness of thinking, or even serious cognitive impairments.

Scientists believe that there must be a ‘master switch’ regulating the networks and if they could find it, they could ‘switch on’ intelligence for everyone.

“We know that genetics plays a major role in intelligence but until now haven’t known which genes are relevant,” said Dr Michael Johnson, lead author of the study from the Department of Medicine at Imperial College.

“This research highlights some of genes involved in human intelligence, and how they interact with each other.

“What’s exciting about this is that the genes we have found are likely to share a common regulation, which means that potentially we can manipulate a whole set of genes whose activity is linked to human intelligence.

“Our research suggests that it might be possible to work with these genes to modify intelligence, but that is only a theoretical possibility at the moment – we have just taken a first step along that road.”

In the study, published in the journal Nature Neuroscience, the team of researchers looked at samples of human brain from patients who had undergone neurosurgery for epilepsy.

They analysed thousands of genes expressed in the human brain, and then combined the results with genetic information from healthy people who had undergone IQ tests and from people with neurological disorders such as autism spectrum disorder and intellectual disability.

They conducted various computational analyses and comparisons in order to identify the gene networks influencing healthy human cognitive abilities. Remarkably, they found that some of the same genes that influence humanintelligence in healthy people were also the same genes that cause impaired cognitive ability and epilepsy when mutated, networks which they called M1 and M3.

Dr Johnson added: “Traits such intelligence are governed by large groups of genes working together – like a football team made up of players in different positions.

“We used computer analysis to identify the genes in the human brain that work together to influence our cognitive ability to make new memories or sensible decisions when faced with lots of complex information.

“We found that some of these genes overlap with those that cause severe childhood onset epilepsy or intellectual disability.

Ericsson Highlights ‘Internet Of Things’ At Saudi Smart Grid Summit

TN Note: Ericsson is one of the largest corporations in the world that specialized in connectivity and the Internet of Things (IoT). It also provides Smart Meters to the global market. This press release demonstrates “In the Networked Society, everyone and everything will be connected in real time – and the utilities sector is already reaping the benefits of this transformation.” Smart Grid is the heartbeat of Technocracy, and the IoT will be its enablement.

Ericsson in Saudi Arabia presented the Networked Society and Internet of Things for sustainable use of energy resources at the recently held Saudi Arabia Smart Grid Conference on Smart Grids and Sustainable Energy (SASG) 2015 in Jeddah.

During the event Ericsson explored how connectivity and exploitation of big data is transforming the way the utilities industry and entire communities use energy resources.

Ericsson showcased that by using ICT to gather and act on information; smart grids will give households greater control over their bills and environmental impact, and allow renewable energy sources to be better integrated into the power network. Real-time information enables providers to repair faults as they occur, and even to prevent them happening in the first place.

Ali Eid, president of Ericsson, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, said: “We are living in an increasingly networked world, and as a result we are all experiencing its profound implications.”

“The dynamic shift within the utilities industry is undeniable; we are showcasing the way that smart grid solutions enable the carbon footprint to be decreased by implementing smart metering aimed at improving connectivity for sustainability. Our objective is to create opportunities for efficient grid and energy consumption management, so that seamless integration of micro-generated, renewable energy sources will be realized.”

In the Networked Society, everyone and everything will be connected in real time – and the utilities sector is already reaping the benefits of this transformation. Our portfolio helps utilities increase efficiency and better manage, distribute and monitor society’s most vital resources.

Ericsson predicts that by the year 2020, billions of devices will be connected to the energy smart grid, from street lamps, to home appliances and power pole transformers, to solar panels and wind turbines. – TradeArabia News Service

Flip Flop Shock: NASA Study Shows Burning Fossil Fuels Actually ‘COOLS Planet’

TN Note: Global Warming believers will be up in arms over NASA popping their so-called “settled science” of global warming. This is not the first time that “science” has flip-flopped. In the 1970s, scientists were certain about an impending ice age. In 2002, the same scientists were certain about polar ice melting and rising oceans. The moral to this story is to stop listening to scientists as if they are some type of infallible god.

Major theories about what causes temperatures to rise have been thrown into doubt after NASA found the Earth has cooled in areas of heavy industrialisation where more trees have been lost and more fossil fuel burning takes place.

Environmentalists have long argued the burning of fossil fuels in power stations and for other uses is responsible for global warming and predicted temperature increases because of the high levels of carbon dioxide produced – which causes the global greenhouse effect.

While the findings did not dispute the effects of carbon dioxide on global warming, they found aerosols – also given off by burning fossil fuels – actually cool the local environment, at least temporarily.

The research was carried out to see if current climate change models for calculating future temperatures were taking into account all factors and were accurate.

A NASA spokesman said: “To quantify climate change, researchers need to know the Transient Climate Response (TCR) and Equilibrium Climate Sensitivity (ECS) of Earth.

Both values are projected global mean surface temperature changes in response to doubled atmospheric carbon dioxide concentrations but on different timescales.

“TCR is characteristic of short-term predictions, up to a century out, while ECS looks centuries further into the future, when the entire climate system has reached equilibrium and temperatures have stabilised.”

The spokesman said it was “well known” that aerosols such as those emitted in volcanic eruptions and power stations, act to cool Earth, at least temporarily, by reflecting solar radiation away from the planet.

He added: “In a similar fashion, land use changes such as deforestation in northern latitudes result in bare land that increases reflected sunlight.”

Kate Marvel, a climatologist at GISS and the paper’s lead author, said the results showed the “complexity” of estimating future global temperatures.

She said: “Take sulfate aerosols, which are created from burning fossil fuels and contribute to atmospheric cooling.

“They are more or less confined to the northern hemisphere, where most of us live and emit pollution. ‘

“There’s more land in the northern hemisphere, and land reacts quicker than the ocean does to these atmospheric changes.

“Because earlier studies do not account for what amounts to a net cooling effect for parts of the northern hemisphere, predictions for TCR and ECS have been lower than they should be.”

The study found existing models for climate change had been too simplistic and did not account for these factors.

The spokesman said: “There have been many attempts to determine TCR and ECS values based on the history of temperature changes over the last 150 years and the measurements of important climate drivers, such as carbon dioxide.

Technocrat EU Army To Allow German Soldiers to Take Control Of Borders

TN Note: The European Union is riddled with unelected, unaccountable Technocrats who have no restraints to tell other nations how to run their countries. The introduction of an EU army that could enforce EU will on member nations is totally disturbing. In particular, that Germany would be at the forefront of this effort is even more disturbing: It was Germany that precipitated two world wars in the last century.

A European Army is now one step closer to becoming a reality, just over 18 months since Britain’s former Deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg branded warnings that the EU was aiming for such expansionism a “dangerous fantasy”.

Mr. Clegg, among others, have gone quiet with his usual derisory treatment of the EU army warnings in the last few months, as top EU policymakers have elaborated upon their ideas for a pan-European Border and Coast Guard.

Now it looks like the plans are not just formalising, but going further than anyone thought possible, with documents outlining what an EU army would look like, including the ability to take control of national borders without the consent of the government of the nation in question.

In theory, this would mean that EU army members could seize border controls, or lackthereof, from countries like the United Kingdom without the permission of the country’s leaders or elected representatives.

According to the Times, the proposals for a 2,500-strong border and coast guard force could see armed personnel first deployed to areas like Greece or the Balkans.

The paper likens the idea of primarily German soldiers seizing power across Europe to the Second World War. Bruno Waterfield and Francis Elliott report: “The force, wearing blue armbands and an EU and agency insignia, would be equipped with naval patrol vessels, helicopters and drones, according to plans tabled yesterday by Jean-Claude Juncker, the European Commission president”.

Almost 18 months ago, UKIP’s leader, Nigel Farage, warned of the plans for an EU army in a big, pre-European Parliamentary Elections debate with then Deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg.

Mr. Clegg lost both televised debates in 2014, notably calling Mr. Farage’s warning a “dangerous fantasy”. He said: “The idea there’s going to be a European air force, a European army, it is simply not true. This is a dangerous fantasy… it is not going to happen”.

The Times also reports that a major European summit, due to be dominated by UK Prime Minister David Cameron’s “renegotiation” demands to halt a British exit from the EU, will instead now focus on the plans for the EU army.

The plans include the statement: “In urgent situations, the agency must be able to step in to ensure action is taken on the ground even where . . . that member state considers there is no need for additional intervention”.
