Musk the Technocrat has disrupted the world of autos, space travel, communication (Starlink) and now robotics. Has the age of humanoid robots arrived? Although there may be some beneficial uses for AI, the dark side of humanity will misuse it in extremely destructive ways. Already, AI and has been elevated above the control of nation-states and human government, and its creators are intentionally recreating the future without public input.
Since Technocrats crave efficiency, it is easy to design robots that will replace human store shelf stockers. There are well over 150,000 stores targeted for such automation and Microsoft and Nvidia are both key technology leaders who want to spread it to the whole world
There is natural affinity to give names to inanimate objects and then to relate to them on an emotional basis. In the 1980s, I had a friend who always named her cars and then spoke affectionately to it by name. When it was time to change cars, it was like a funeral to retire the old and induct the new. No two cars had the same name.
