Bill Gates: Nerd But No Genius

Why would anyone believe Bill Gates on anything, especially regarding vaccines and the future of world health?

I was an eye-witness of the early days of computer operating system development. A true software development company called Digital Research was originally chosen to develop for IBM. Its DR-DOS product was spectacular, solid and correctly architected for the future. In fact, it was the first multi-tasking and multi-user operating system for PCs, and it WORKED!

On the other hand, Microsoft developed absolutely nothing initially, purchasing its initial operating system from Seattle Computer Products. The image of Gates slaving away in his garage pounding out assembly code is completely bogus.

Gates and his lawyers swept into IBM, drove a wedge between Digital Research and got them kicked out of the deal. Microsoft took over and IBM launched Gates into fame and fortune. The rest is history.

However, Gates’ was a horrible software developer and those early days were brutal to PC owners.  Computers would frequently crash without warning, losing work-in-progress and trashing hard disks. When Windows 2 and 3 came out, who doesn’t remember the infamous “blue screen of death”?

I also remember a Gates oddity in that he never (or seldom) cleaned his eyeglasses. They were so dirty that they were easily noticeable in pictures and on video interviews, and he didn’t seem to care. Maybe that is why he was such a lousy programmer.

Gates hasn’t changed his spots since those early days, in my opinion. He is still an empty shell of a greed-obsessed, lawyer-ladened conniver. If anything, his theoretical reasoning has significantly diminished since those early days, but not his desire to dominate the world.

Gates reminds me of the cartoon Pinky and the Brain, both of which were rats. Every night, Pinky would ask Brain what were they going to do. Brain always responded, “Same thing we do every night, Pinky, try to take over the world.” All of their plans fell apart by the end of the night, but one thing always remained when the sun came up: Brain was still a rat, just like Gates is today.

Just sayin’…
